This article describes the concept of "economic security" applicable to the process of countries entering into the foreign market. The features of this term, as well as its constituent elements, are described. In addition, attention is paid to the sources of information necessary for collecting data, the analysis of which gives an objective assessment of the level of economic security in the country at the moment.
