This article discusses and defines the role of document resources in the enterprise communication environment. Here we give the concept of a document, an information resource, and a document resource that is an integral part of an information resource. The features and structure of the document resource, its role in the communications and information structure of the modern enterprise are determined, taking into account the use of digital technologies and electronic document management.
